About the community

Women in Tech® Global, headquartered in Paris, was founded in 2018 by Ayumi Moore Aoki, with the mission to close the gender gap and empower women to embrace technology. Our primary goal is to foster empowerment, diversity, and innovation within the technology sector, ensuring women and girls thrive in STEAM fields.

As the Director of Women in Tech Georgia, I am dedicated to driving this mission forward by creating opportunities for women in the industry. With over 13 years of experience as a Brand Strategist working with tech companies and startups, I have seen firsthand how essential it is for women to gain visibility, build leadership skills, and position themselves effectively within the sector. Through our initiatives, we provide education, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help women establish their careers and make a meaningful impact in technology.

Our objectives focus on four key areas essential for empowering women in technology. We design educational programs to equip women with the skills they need for thriving in STEAM careers while offering robust support to women entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Additionally, we work hard to ensure digital inclusion so that every woman has access to the necessary technologies. Alongside these efforts, our advocacy initiatives aim to drive systemic change and challenge the gender biases that persist in the tech industry. Together, these pillars form the comprehensive approach that defines our mission.

Events for the community

Women in Tech Georgia organizes a variety of events and initiatives aimed at empowering women in the technology sector. These include educational courses, webinars, and activities designed to enhance skills and knowledge. For example, starting on March 7, in celebration of Women’s Month, we are partnering with ISTQB®, a leading global certification body in software testing, to deliver a series of webinars on topics such as AI in Software Testing and Women in Agile Teams.

This summer, we plan to organize a bootcamp in collaboration with universities and organizations to equip participants with essential technical and entrepreneurial skills. This program aims to foster a founder’s mindset, preparing women to take on leadership roles in the startup ecosystem and contribute to future tech-driven ventures.

Our flagship event, the Women in Tech® Awards, is a regional and global celebration recognizing women’s achievements in technology across nine categories, including:
Aspiring Teen, Best Ally, Most Impactful Initiative, Most Disruptive, Woman in Web3, Tech Diplomacy, Green Start-Up, Global Leadership, Lifetime Achievement . The inaugural Caucasus and Central Asia Awards took place in Tbilisi in 2023, bringing together inspiring women from six countries.

The Women in Tech® Global Summit is an annual event that brings together leaders, innovators, and changemakers from around the world to discuss and promote women’s roles in technology and innovation. Traditionally held in Paris, the 2025 summit will take place from April 23-25 in Osaka, Japan, aligning with the Osaka World Expo 2025. Women in Tech will have a dedicated pavilion at the expo, further showcasing our initiatives and providing a platform to engage with a broader audience. This year’s summit will host 650 delegates from over 90 countries and feature 80 expert speakers discussing AI, cybersecurity, sustainability, leadership, and space technology. As the Director of the Georgian chapter, I am thrilled to participate in this global gathering. It is an invaluable opportunity to connect with fellow female leaders, share insights, and collaborate on initiatives that drive positive change in our industry.

All our events and programs are open to both members and non-members, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and collaboration within the tech industry.

How the community supports growth

We support our members’ growth in many ways, helping them develop both personally and professionally. Through mentorship programs, learning opportunities, and networking events, we create spaces where women can connect, share knowledge, and learn from each other. Whether someone is just starting out or looking to advance their career, we provide guidance to help them build leadership skills and technical expertise

Above all, networking and real success stories from female tech leaders inspire our community. Seeing women break barriers, lead innovations, and succeed in tech motivates others to do the same. It is not just about education — it is about building a strong, supportive network where women uplift each other and grow together.

Successful projects

One of our notable achievements is the Entry Level Penetration Testing Pilot Program launched in March 2023. This initiative was a collaborative effort between Women in Tech Georgia, Caucasus University, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, and the Scientific Cyber Security Association. The program aimed to introduce young women to the field of cybersecurity, focusing on penetration testing skills. The successful completion of this program was celebrated at the Women in Tech CCA Awards, where participants were awarded certificates, marking a significant step towards diversifying the cybersecurity workforce.

Plans

We are focused on creating more opportunities for women in tech by expanding mentorship programs, building partnerships with local tech companies, and organizing more workshops on emerging technologies. Our goal is to provide women with the right skills and support to grow in their careers.

This summer, we are planning to launch a bootcamp for girls to help them develop entrepreneurial skills and a founder’s mindset, preparing them for future success in the startup world. We also want to start working with younger girls by partnering with IT-schools for kids, introducing them to technology early and sparking their interest in the field.
