Apple Academy in Armenia: how to obtain official accreditation and what it offers
In August 2026, ACT College became the first educational institution in Armenia to receive the status of Apple Authorized Training Center for Education, or AATCE. This status allows the institution to deliver official Apple educational programs, train students through approved courses, and prepare them for the company’s international qualification exams.
AATCE requires educational institutions to meet Apple’s standards for infrastructure, instructors, and educational programs. We look at what it takes to obtain the status and what opportunities it offers.
What is Apple authorized training center for education
AATCE is Apple’s official program for educational institutions. It is designed for organizations that want to teach students how to work with Apple technologies and develop in-demand digital skills.
One of the program’s key areas is app development using Swift and SwiftUI. Apple provides educational materials and programs, including Develop in Swift, that help students gain practical app development skills.
The status is granted to an educational institution, rather than an individual instructor or course. Apple reviews the institution’s infrastructure, instructors, and training format. Once approved, the organization can operate within the authorized training center program.
What requirements does Apple have
To obtain the status, an educational institution must meet Apple’s standards.
One of the key requirements is dedicated training infrastructure. Apple requires institutions to create an innovation lab equipped with Mac computers and test devices for use during training.
The center must also regularly teach Apple’s Develop in Swift program. Apple has separate requirements for instructors: they must complete the relevant training and obtain certification.
In addition, the educational institution must agree to the terms of participation in the program and sign the relevant agreement with Apple.
What does an authorized training center receive
Once approved, the center can deliver official Apple educational programs.
As part of the program, instructors receive training, while the organization gains access to Apple’s educational opportunities and can interact with other authorized centers around the world.
Apple also highlights opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge with other educational institutions and develop training programs for specialists with in-demand digital skills.
For an educational institution, the status means it can use official Apple programs in its curriculum. For students, it provides training based on the company’s standards.
What does a student receive
The main advantage for students is the opportunity to study Apple technologies through an official curriculum and prepare for relevant qualification exams.
In Armenia, ACT College has already launched a Swift programming course based on the Develop in Swift program. The classes are taught by Apple-certified instructors. After successfully completing the course, participants receive an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education certificate.
It is important to distinguish between a course completion certificate and Apple professional certification. AATCE allows an educational center to provide training and prepare students for qualification exams, but the specific certification requirements depend on the relevant Apple program.
How to obtain AATCE status
Apple does not publish a universal application form with a fixed list of documents and review timelines. On the official program page, educational institutions are invited to contact Apple to begin the process.
However, the main requirements are known in advance.
1. Prepare the educational infrastructure.
The institution will need an equipped lab with Mac computers and the necessary test devices.
2. Define the educational program.
The center must be prepared to regularly teach Apple Develop in Swift and other programs included in the partnership.
3. Prepare the instructors.
The training process must be delivered by instructors who meet Apple’s requirements and have completed the necessary certification.
4. Meet Apple’s standards.
Apple evaluates not only the equipment, but also the teaching format, infrastructure, and the institution’s readiness to meet the program requirements.
5. Sign an agreement with Apple.
After completing the necessary steps, the educational institution signs an agreement to participate in the program.
How does it work in Armenia
ACT College became the first AATCE in Armenia. The institution received the status in August 2026 and began developing official Apple educational programs.
One of its first programs is a Swift course based on Develop in Swift. Students learn the programming language, app development for iPhone and Mac, interface design fundamentals, and how to create their own projects.
The status also allows students to prepare for Apple’s international qualification exams directly in Armenia.
For the country, this means another pathway for training specialists in Apple technologies without requiring them to study abroad. For the educational institution, it creates an opportunity to work with the official programs and standards of one of the world’s largest technology companies.
